I. Overview
The PCL series low-multiplicity foam generator is fixedly installed on the oil tank and sprays foam onto the surface of the flammable liquid, quickly covering the entire burning surface to extinguish the fire and effectively prevent the spread of fire.
It is mainly suitable for the production, storage, transportation and use of flammable and combustible liquids, and is especially suitable for extinguishing tank fires and large-scale flowing fires.
2. Working Principle
The PCL series low-multiplicity foam generator is provided with foam mixed liquid by the foam mixing device. When it flows into the inlet of the generator and passes through the nozzle, it forms a diffused atomized jet, which generates negative pressure around it, thereby sucking in a large amount of air to form foam. The foam is input into the storage tank through the foam nozzle or guide plate, flows down along the tank wall (guide groove), and steadily covers the surface of the burning liquid, using the cooling and suffocating effects of the foam to achieve the purpose of fire extinguishing.
3. Structure and dimensions

4. Notes:
1. The generator should be installed vertically on the upper part of the tank wall, not on the top of the tank. The dust cover should be upward during installation, and it should not be installed sideways. When used in external floating roof tanks, it should be installed on the foam deflector on the top of the tank.
2. When installing the generator, a hole should be made on the tank wall first. Sufficient space should be left on the top of the tank. The generator inlet should be higher than the storage liquid level of the tank by a certain size to avoid affecting the foam quality and foam formation, and to prevent liquid from flowing out of the generator outlet.
3. If the generator is used to extinguish water-soluble Class A, B, or C liquid fires, the guide plate is not applicable and should be replaced with other suitable buffer devices (such as drop chutes, foam chutes, etc.).
4. The nozzle of the generator cannot be blocked by debris. Before installing the foam generator, the pipeline should be flushed to ensure that there is no debris in the pipeline, then the foam generator should be installed and the foam system should be debugged.
5. To prevent the gas in the tank from leaking out from the generator, a sealing glass is installed at the outlet of the generator shell. There are fragile scratches on one side of the sealing glass, and the scratched side should be installed towards the outlet. The sealing glass will break when impacted by (0.10-0.30) MPa mixed liquid. The sealing glass should be installed after debugging. If the sealing glass is damaged after each use or other reasons, it should be replaced in time.
6. The generator can also be used to spray foam into the tank embankment to extinguish the fire flowing inside the embankment. When installed outside the embankment, it should be installed on a baffle that allows the foam to flow to the surface of the burning liquid.
7. To ensure the safety of the generator, a support frame should be installed under the generator. In case of fire, the storage tank may rupture or deform, which may damage the generator and pipeline. To reduce the damage, a metal hose that can act as a buffer should be installed in the generator inlet pipeline or other measures should be taken.
5. Use and maintenance
1. Care should be taken to ensure that there is no foreign matter in the supplied mixture to avoid clogging of the generator.
2. Ensure that the air intake hole of the generator is unobstructed and not blocked by debris.
3. Check the generator regularly to see if it is in good condition. If any damaged parts are found, replace them in time.
